Quick Analysis Series: Wilton Speight

Wilton Speight is Michigan’s Quarterback commitment for 2014. Brady Hoke lands another commit, and doesn’t miss a beat on the recruiting trail. It’s starting to look a little like Michigan is becoming “Quarterback U” from the last few recruiting classes and gunslingers for UM of late.

Speight brings a lot of potential to Michigan’s pro-style offense, which now will be loaded with Devin Gardner and company running the show. Speight could really excel in a winged helmet for a few years to come, especially if they are able to land Drake Harris or a big time receiver as a weapon in that offense. If Speight shows up at camps and workouts nationally this summer, he could easily be ranked in ESPN or Rivals Top 150 list. The reason he isn’t ranked because he didn’t play due to injury last season.
