Scouting Report: Drake Harris is a four-star rated recruit by Scout.com and third-ranked wide receiver prospect in the nation. He is also a member of the 2014 ESPN Watch List. Harris was once a commit at Michigan State looking to play both basketball and football. He has reopened his recruitment recently to focus solely on football, and the rest of the nation has taken notice.

Harris is one of the top play-making wideouts in the 2014 class and could approach five-star status very shortly. His body control is elite at this postion. His hand-eye coordination is top notch as well as his focus. Harris has great hands and rarely drops what is thrown to him. While not quite a world-class runner, he has deceptively quick feet and runs very precise routes for a guy who plays on the outside.

Where Drake Harris needs to improve is his strength and physicality. He is one of the taller  receiver prospects in the class, but is very lanky. Adding some bulk to his frame would benefit him greatly. His athleticism will never be a concern, as he plays shooting guard on his high school basketball team and was widely regarded as one of the top dual-sport prospects in the nation before de-committing from Michigan State.

Update: Drake Harris verbally commited to Michigan on 4/14/13
