Jamarco Jones, one of 2014’s top offensive tackle targets, announced Thursday afternoon that he has committed to Ohio State. Michigan and Michigan State were also in the running for his services.
Jones, a 6-5, 290 pound product of Chicago De La Salle, is the 50th ranked player and 4th rated player at his position, according to 247’s composite rankings.
What likely put OSU and MSU at the top of the list is the chance for Jones to play right away, which of course would be appealing. The Buckeyes landed themselves a hell of a player.
Jamarco Jones would have been a great addition to an already superb class, but that is how it goes sometimes. I think we all forget how special the 2014 class has been in terms of getting almost everyone they’ve wanted to this point.
Michigan is probably done with offensive lineman in this class, as they have built some nice depth lately. Jones would have been more of a luxury than anything. (When is the last time someone said that about a lineman?)
Another big prospect will be making his decision this weekend in the form of wide receiver Artavis Scott, who many think is leaning towards Clemson at this time. We will have more coverage on his recruitment as it becomes available to us.
Keep it locked in here for the latest, and Go Blue!
